Dakine Network II backpack review
The Dakine Network II is a thoughtfully designed laptop backpack that allows you to bring your work wherever you roam thanks to its TSA-friendly laptop compartment, document sleeve and roomy main compartment.
What makes the Network II stand out from other laptop backpacks is its focus on organizing accessories. Inside the backpack you’ll find pockets for headphones, cords and power bricks. In addition to the TSA-friendly laptop compartment there is also an additional fleece-lined tablet sleeve on the front of the backpack for easy access while on the move.
What we like
Tons of organizer pockets for your tech and personal items. If you needs lots of compartments, then this backpack is for you.
Backpack materials feels quality and rugged enough for daily use.
Dedicated front tablet pocket is perfect for anyone looking for a tablet backpack.
What we don’t like
Shoulder straps are on the thin side and can get uncomfortable when fully loaded.

Kaukko Outdoor Backpack
Kaukko Outdoor Backpack review
Another day, another cheaper Herschel Little America alternative. Kaukko heavily borrows from the popular Herschel backpack down to the red and white striped fabric lining and branded woven label placement. We once heard that imitation is a form of flattery.
But the Kaukko Outdoor Backpack is actually a pretty solid deal. At under $50 you get a medium sized rucksack with a laptop compartment, plenty of pockets and countless color options. And the backpack is actually pretty comfortable even when loaded thanks to its padded shoulder straps and back making the Kaukko Outdoor Backpack one of the better cheap “vintage rucksack” style backpacks out there.
What we like
Cheaper backpack for those who don’t want to spend the money on more expensive brands.
Side pockets and compression straps are a nice touch.
What we don’t like
It feels “cheap” especially when compared to higher quality backpacks.
Fake leather straps aren’t the best quality.

Patagonia Refugio 26L Backpack
Patagonia Refugio Women’s 26L backpack review
The Patagonia Refugio is perfect for anyone who needs a reliable backpack for daily commutes, travel or light outdoor activities like hiking or beach days. At 26 liters, the main compartment is surprisingly roomy while the front pocket is perfect for organizing smaller items for school or work. Features such as a removable sternum strap, front attachment loops and DWR water resistant coating also makes the Refugio perfect for days outdoors.
The Patagonia Refugio comes in two sizes, the women’s Refugio 26 liter backpack and the larger men’s Refugio 28 liter backpack. The women’s 26 liter version features a shorter torso and shoulder straps.
What we like
Incredibly versatile. Roomy enough to be used for school, commuting, light travel or as an outdoor daypack.
Women specific back panel and shoulder strap fit.
What we don’t like
Shoulder straps are a little too close together. This could be a problem for people with broad shoulders.

Burton Tinder Backpack
Burton Tinder backpack review
The Burton Tinder is a bold everyday pack that takes its style cues from heritage rucksack designs. But don’t let the vintage style fool you, the Tinder is filled with modern features such as a padded laptop compartment and ergonomic shoulder straps.
At 25 liters, the Burton Tinder is very much the smaller cousin of the Burton Annex backpack in both size and design.
What we like
We like this as a medium sized daily carry commuter backpack for those who don’t need tons of storage room.
Lots of color and pattern options to choose from.
Laptop sleeve with separate tablet sleeve in main compartment.
What we don’t like
Plastic buckles to snap close the main compartment feel cheaply made.

Columbia Tamolitch Daypack
Columbia Tamolitch backpack review
Columbia offers a daypack for those who need a go-to bag for all of life’s adventures. At 23.7 liters, the Tamolitch is a good size for women and people with smaller frames who don’t want a backpack that is too bulky. The main compartment is surprisingly roomy and the various pockets and organizers are perfect for daily carry. We especially like the separate tablet pocket below the laptop sleeve in the main compartment.
For the adventurous, the Columbia Tamolitch can also be used as a light hiking daypack or travel backpack thanks to its water repellent Omni Shield fabric, stretchy side water bottle pockets and front stash pockets.
What we like
Versatile multi-use backpack for school, commuting, days outdoors and can even be used as flight carry-on.
The price is right - If you wait for a sale, you can often purchase this backpack for under $50.
What we don’t like
Quality of the zippers, threading and construction is not on par with brands like North Face and Patagonia. You get what you pay for.

Patagonia Black Hole MLC 45L Convertible Backpack
Patagonia Black Hole MLC 45L Convertible Backpack review
Born out of the popular Patagonia Black Hole duffel back, Patagonia’s Black Hole backpacks are available in a few different styles and sizes:
Patagonia 45L Convertible Backpack
The 45 liter version of the Black Hole is a large backpack that converts to a duffel bag when you need it. Made specifically for travel, the bag opens up like a suitcase to reveal a generous main compartment that can fit multiple days of clothes and gear. Internal organizers and pockets for laptops, documents and tickets make the Patagonia Black Hole MLC bag perfect for everything from work trips to weekend adventures.
What we like
Great to use as a airline carry-on. Convertible design allows for easy carry at airports.
Main compartment is very roomy. Divided pockets on the one side makes it easy to store smaller personal items.
What we don’t like
No waist-belt to help with weight distribution for when the bag gets heavy.
No compression straps to prevent your stuff from moving around when the bag is not full.

Patagonia Black Hole 32L Backpack
Patagonia Black Hole 32L backpack review
Born out of the popular Patagonia Black Hole duffel back, Patagonia’s Black Hole backpacks are available in a few different styles and sizes:
Patagonia 32L Backpack
The 30 liter version is the mid-size option for anyone who needs a roomy backpack for a busy day of school, work or sightseeing. The Black Hole 30 liter features a padded sleeve for a laptop, front stash pocket for smaller electronics like headphones or a power bank and a large main compartment for everything from text books to a change of clothes.
What we like
Incredibly versatile. Large enough to be used for school, commuting, gym or light travel.
Deep side water bottle pockets. Water bottles, umbrellas and other items won’t fall out when on the move.
What we don’t like
Although the TPU coated fabric is advertised as water resistant, the zippers and bottom panel are not. Water can sneak into the backpack if you set your backpack down during a heavy rain downpour.

Dakine Campus Backpack
Dakine Campus backpack review
The Dakine Campus is a backpack designed for busy students who need a large and reliable backpack to get them through long days on campus. The main compartment is large enough to hold textbooks, binders and even includes a padded sleeve for your laptop.

What we like

Everlane Modern Snap Backpack
Everlane The Modern Snap backpack review
The Everlane Modern Snap backpack is one the brand’s most popular bags and it’s easy to see why. The Modern Snap Backpack is stylish enough to wear while running weekend errands yet sophisticated enough as a work commuter bag. The sleek design looks great on both men and women while the size is perfect for people with smaller frames who want to avoid bulky backpacks.
What we like
Stylish modern rucksack design that can be worn to work or on the weekends.
Main compartment is spacious and can fit everything from books, binders to a change of clothes.
What we don’t like
Side pockets are not gusseted so it can be hard to fit things like water bottles or umbrellas when the pack is full.

What we like
Attractive minimalist design.
TSA checkpoint friendly laptop compartment that lays flat.

Everki Titan Backpack
Everki Titan backpack review
The first thing you’ll notice about the Everki Titan is its size. At 40 liters, the Titan is large enough to carry all of your daily or travel essentials without fear of running out of pockets or compartments. The bag itself is split into 3 main areas; the TSA-friendly laptop compartment, a main compartment and a front organizer compartment for smaller items. Add in tons of other pockets, organizers and hidden compartment and you have a monster of a backpack that’s perfect for busy commuters or travelers.
What we like
TSA checkpoint friendly laptop compartment that lays flat.
XL laptop compartment - Most backpacks can only fit laptops up to 15-inches while the Everki Titan has room for laptops up to 18.4 inches.
Lots and lots of pockets and organizers for small items.
What we don’t like
This backpack is huge yet the main compartment is lacking. It’s not roomy enough to pack multiple days of clothes or larger items.
No trolley luggage pass through which is a huge con for us since this backpack can really heavy when full.

Tumi Sheppard Deluxe Brief Pack
Tumi Alpha Bravo Sheppard Deluxe Brief Pack backpack review
The Tumi Sheppard Deluxe Brief Pack is a backpack made with business travelrs and commuters in mind. The bag has enough room to comfortably carry business files and binders with special compartments for a laptop, tablet and other tech. The roomy main compartment and pockets are great for daily essentials.
What we like the most about the Tumi Sheppard is that it looks and feels like a premium business bag that can rival most briefcases. It won’t look out of place at the office and you are sure to turn some heads at the airport.
What we like
Great size for lugging around multiple devices (laptops, tablets) and business files.
Plenty of useful pockets and compartments in the side, front and inside the main compartment.
Exceptional materials and construction. Looks and feels high quality.
What we don’t like
It’s expensive! If you don’t love it, it can be hard justifying the price tag.

Tumi Hagen Backpack
Tumi Voyageur Hagen backpack review
From Tumi’s women’s Voyageur collection, the Hagen is work and travel backpack made for those who want a quality backpack for those busy days on the move. Although smaller in size, the Hagen share a lot of the same design elements as the popular Tumi Voyageur Carson.
What we like
Professional design that won’t look out of place at the office.
Small enough to bring as an airline personal item and fit under the seat.
Exceptional materials and construction. Looks and feels high quality.
What we don’t like
No side water bottle pockets. Water bottle pocket on the inside of the bag is annoying to use.
Laptop pocket inside is very small - barely fits a 13-inch Macbook. Max recommended laptop size is 12 inches.
SPECIFICATIONS
Dimensions: 14.25” H x 11.5” W x 5.5” D
Material: Nylon with leather accents
Weight: 1.3 lbs
Laptop Compartment: Up to 12”

Matt & Nat Brave Backpack
Matt & Nat Brave Backpack Review
Clean. Modern. Chic. Those are just some of the ways we like to describe the Matt & Nat Brave backpack. One of the brand’s best sellers, the Brave backpack allows you to carry your daily essentials in style. Matt & Nat is one of our favorite work backpack brands because of their clean and modern designs that won’t look out of place in more formal settings like the office and their Brave backpack is no exception.
What we like
Unique modern and chic design that can be worn just about anywhere.
Deep “bucket” main compartment that fits daily essentials.
Cruelty free - made with no animal products.
What we don’t like
Front pocket is not gusseted and hard to use when main compartment is full
Zippers aren’t smooth and could be better
Although the bag is advertised as having a laptop “pocket” we found the zip pocket to small to fit a 13” laptop.
SPECIFICATIONS
Dimensions: 14” H x 10” W x 5.75” D
Material: PVC/Vegan “Leather”
Weight: 1.8lbs
Laptop Compartment: None - zip pocket in main compartment can fit a small tablet while main compartment can fit a laptop up to 13”

Everki Studio Slim Laptop Backpack
Everki Studio Slim Laptop Backpack review
The Everki Studio is a slim laptop backpack for those who need a safe a smart way to carry their tech. The Studio is jammed packed with pockets and organizers for all of your daily tech essentials. The laptop sleeve fits laptops up to 14-inches but we have found it to fit slimmer 15-inch laptops like the Macbook Pro.
For travelers, the Everki Studio features a trolley luggage handle pass-through for easy carry at airports. The bag is also small enough to be considered a personal item and comfortably fit under most airline seats.
What we like
Tons of small pockets and organizers for accessories like chargers, cables, a mouse and personal items.
Orange liner on the inside makes it easy to quickly spot the contents inside the bag.
Professional looking design that doesn’t scream “tech backpack”
What we don’t like
At 14 liter capacity you can comfortably fit a laptop and accessories… but that’s just about it. There is no extra storage space for larger items.
Water bottle pocket doesn’t stretch far enough to accommodate larger water bottles.
SPECIFICATIONS
Dimensions: 15.75” H x 11” W x 4.52” D
Capacity: 14L
